The film revolves around the twists and turns in the life of Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar), who, in the beginning of the film, meets with an accident, and in spite f being physically fine, is unable to walk. After relocating to Dehradun, he befriends their new neighbor Kajal (Lara Dutta), who coaxes him to walk, and succeeds in her attempts. Thanks to her efforts, soon, Raj gets recruited in the Indian Air Force, for which he is required to go and train for a year and a half. Raj decides to come back and voice his feeling for Kajal, which he has developed over time. However, when he comes back, He finds Kajal in love with Karan. She, on knowing f his feelings at her reception, suggests him to move on with his life. He later meets Jiya (Priyanka Chopra) in Cape Town where he goes to train. She instantly falls for him, but he doesn`t. However, after his family telling him that they approve of Jiya, he agrees to marry her. Little does he know that Kajal is the sister-in-law of Jiya. What will happen when he comes face-to-face with his first love? Is he in for surprises?

Andaaz, is a 2003 Indian romantic musical film directed by Raj Kanwar and produced by Suneel Darshan. It stars Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta in the lead roles. The film tells the story of Raj (Kumar) and his romantic relationship with two girls, Kajal and Jiya (Dutta and Chopra). The music of the film was composed by Nadeem-Shravan with lyrics written by Sameer.

Made on a budget of ₹80 million, the film was released on 23 May 2003 to mixed reviews from critics, with praise directed towards performances of Dutta and Chopra, the cinematography and the music. The film was a major box-office success, grossing ₹288 million at the box-office. Andaaz was deemed the “first Universal Hit of the year”.

The film won several awards and nominations at various award ceremonies across India. At the 49th Filmfare Awards, Andaaz received five nominations, including Best Supporting Actress for Chopra, winning two awards in the Best Female Debut category for Dutta and Chopra.
